One of the main goals of the electronic EULA abstract is to make it easy for font users to "do the right thing". I.e. to abide by the terms of their font EULAs. An inevitable consequence of having EULA information readily available is that some users will find that their current license does not cover their needs. Perhaps they need more users for the font. Maybe they need embedding that is not allowed. Or a modification that is a "Maybe".
What they really need in all these cases in order to do the right thing is a license upgrade. Without the option of a convenient and reasonable license upgrade the easiest course of action is to just ignore the license and do whatever they want. Therefore it behooves the font vendor to make it as simple as possible to obtain the appropriate license upgrade.
This field, "License Upgrade URL", is intended to contain the URL where the user can go to get a license upgrade or information about what upgrades are available.
